May Morning by Charles Courtney Curran

The painting was inspired by Curran’s own experiences of May Day celebrations. He grew up in a small town in Ohio, and he remembered the annual May Day celebrations that were held there. He was particularly fond of the sight of young women dressed in white dresses and dancing in the fields.
